One Of The Best Birthday Presents & Being A Working Mom

My 25th birthday was last week. I am a whole quarter of a century old now!

Anyways, when Stephen and I went to go pick up Baby Boy at daycare they wrote on his sheet he took TWO steps! His teacher also said he took one more later in the day. I was so excited that he is now taking steps all by himself and not holding onto anything. Later in the night we were playing when he took two more steps. I was even more excited since I got to see it. I started clapping and saying "Yay Abram!" He looked up at me and smiled so big. Oh, the joys of being a parent. I absolutely love it!

*switching gears a little bit*

As a working mom, I sometimes get sad and frustrated that I will miss all the "firsts." His first word, his first step, his first time to sit up, his first time to roll over, his first time to pull up on things, etc. However, I think that since I do have a full time job it makes the moments with Abram even sweeter and I treasure our time together so much more. I know that this is just a stage in my life and that God has called me to work full time right now. He put me at my job for a purpose. I am still unsure what that purpose is, but I pray constantly that God will use me and people will see Him through me. I also pray that I will get to be a stay at home mom one day. I desire that so much and my heart aches for that day when I can become one. I know that I just have to wait on Him and His perfect timing for when I can become one. (Side note - I also pray that if it is not God's will for me to be a stay at home mom then He will take that away)

So to wrap up this post, Abram gave me a wonderful birthday present and I'm getting old ;)
